Japan was amazing, but what stinks is all I can show for it is a ton of old video games and a very messed up sleep schedule.

Finally! The YEAH YEAH YEAHs are putting out a new album this March 28th. Entitled "Show Your Bones," the first single's coming out early march and it's called "Gold Lion."
Pretty happy about this, it's been a long time with very little new YYYs stuff! Maybe me and Eric can get on the new DVD.

9:55 am - Stupid Gomespot Awards
|
Seriously, this year they're being whiny retards. Basically, the awards they're giving out this year seem like they've missed half of the stuff out there.
Best use of a peripheral? (It should be going to Guitar Hero)
Best platformer, funniest game, best character design, best game no one played, etc... all go to Psychonauts? Come on, guys... you're just mad no one bought the game so they're not going to make a sequel.
At least Civ 4 won best strategy game, but they ended up giving a half dozen awards to xbox 360 games that no one's played and can't possibly be better than the ones in that catagory - especially since gamespot themselves gave those xbox 360 games lower ratings.
If the president ever comes back in to best buy, this time I'm going to take my crowbar and make him pay.

I'm better, I'm done with my finals, I registered (I'll be taking M W F classes next semester), and I don't have to return to school until January 31st! That's like 6 weeks off from school!
One great thing about finals was the fact I played a ton of old music when I was writing, and got to re-discover some tracks I missed years ago. (Namely my old Pedro the Lion albums...)
I'm totally happy all my classes are finally over and this next semester I'm pretty excited about my line up: Greek and Latin roots in English, Shakespeare: Representative Plays, Age of the Romantics (poety), The Structure of English, and a class on Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
So while I'm still working like 5 days a week at Best Buy, I'm finally down to hang out and chill - give me a call, I've got the time now.

Okay guys, I'm still sick.
I've been sick since Black Friday with some horrible flu/cough/fever/sore throat/headache thing.
I've been sleeping all the time and when I'm not at home, I've been in class.. trying not to sleep.
I'll let you guys know when I'm feeling better.

1:42 pm - I was off for a minute
|
In Civ 4 I played as Julius Caesar ruling the Roman Empire starting the game at 4000 BC.
By 350 BC Moses led the Holy Roman Empire into Egpyt and sacked their cities and 600 years later, all of Egypt was under control. Later, in 600 AD, Homer (the 'author' of the Iliad and the Odyssey) went into battle with my Legions against Alexander the Great. Homer promptly died and I wasted an epic person.
This Halloween I'm going as one of the Crazy 88s. Hella crazy 88.
So what guys, like two days before the house is ours? I'm working late again this Wednesday - Best Buy can be really crappy.

I've been really incredibly busy these last few weeks. SF State has just consumed me, Latin being one of the main areas of work, and Best Buy... Well, it's still Best Buy and I'm still doing returns and exchanges. Other than the tedious, I've been dancing like crazy. No, I'm being absolutely serious - that and trying out bars in the city. Places like Velvet Lounge, Popscene, XYZ Lounge, Suede (That was Salsa for three hours), and of course the ever-lovin' El Rio have all been highlights. Another thing, I saw "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," which was actually good from my biased point of view. I know people are upset over some of its overly religious themes, but I went into the theatre thinking: "How'd I get talked into this? Oh Wait... Raquel!" and left feeling "Hey, that was pretty good.. and there was a good message spread." Also, that night Raquel won free tickets to Flogging Molly when we were driving there. Soundcheck was on, and I started dialing to win the prize, but I handed the phone over to her so we wouldn't crash and die. No, we lived AND got free tickets. Best of both worlds, in my opinion. Now, I've got to memorize lines from Aphra Behn's play "The Rover," I get to be the title character "Wilmore." Meaning, he's a Rover.. or what we'd now call lovingly in 21st century terms as: perverted old lecher and/or swinger. You know, me to a 'T'.
The Rover (Sample Lines):
Belvile: (angrily) "Why yes sir, they are whores, though they'll neither entertain you with drinking, swearing, or bawdry; are whores in all the gay clothes and right jewels; are whores with those great houses furnished with velvet beds..."
Wilmore (Me): (coolly) "... Where do these fine whores live?"

8:49 am - Because we all know I'm just like Howard Stern and Roseanne
|
the Shock Jock
(61% dark, 46% spontaneous, 47% vulgar) |
your humor style: VULGAR | SPONTANEOUS | DARK
Your sense of humor is off-the-cuff and kind of gross. Is it is also sinister, cynical, and vaguely threatening to the purer folks of this world. You probably get off on that. You would cut a greasy fart, then blame it on your mom, and then just shrug when someone pointed out that she's dead.
Yours is hands-down the most outrageous sense of humor; you like things trangressive and hardcore. It's highly likely (a) you have no limits (b) you have no scruples and (c) you have no job. Ironically, it's your type of humor that can make the biggest bucks in show business.

Yeah, so moved into beautiful ol' Alameda... with my Grandma. Totally moved out - never going back to Daly City - moved out. Other than that, work's taking up a lot of my time. Although partying in El Rio Monday nights certainly takes a load off. Speaking of which.. El Rio in the city this Monday? It's dollar drinks and I've got a wallet full of one dollar bills. Well, busy day. Had to first say goodbye to Quinn who came over, cleaned out his room, and left his keys. The room looks great and smells fine, and I'll miss him. Now that he's out with her, I'll probably never really see him ever again. Good luck to you, Quinn.
Hung out with Garrett again today, on his last day here. A great day, and as he said himself: "It's not about Location, it's about where you go.. I mean, who you're with, who you're with!" That sums it up, and I'll be praying for Garrett. For his health, his marriage, his new military career, and his future.

Wow, so New Orleans was incredible. As I'm sitting here and preparing for my last final all I can think about is going out and living life. The experiences from being around a great friend, to a completely different atmosphere, to seeing a friend you've known since high school get married have all left an impression on me.
Much love to Garrett and Nancy Close, married May 22, 2005.
